Cliffside Diner, nestled on Old Lawrenceburg Road in Frankfort, KY, offers a genuine slice of American diner culture that keeps patrons coming back. Customers rave about the comforting, nostalgic dishes, including the highly praised meatloaf dinner, which Richard Mcinteer found "pretty good," especially the cornbread that stole the spotlight. Maria Stoimenova enthusiastically recommends their classic fried bologna sandwich and the Philly cheesesteak, both served with a cheerful smile, making once again the diner experience feel genuine and inviting. The atmosphere reflects this warmth, as noted by Tracie Hitchcock, who traveled over 200 miles just to dine at this charming spot. From the delightful omelets and Kentucky hot brown to the consistent quality of service, her experience underlined the hard work of the friendly staff that truly enhances the dining experience. Doug Edwards echoed similar sentiments, relishing the chuckwagon sandwich and the array of comfort foods that transported him back in time. Whether you visit for breakfast or a quick lunch, Cliffside Diner offers a unique dining experience with freshly prepared meals and an unmistakable sense of community. This little diner is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in hearty, delicious comfort food combined with an atmosphere buzzing with warmth and friendliness.

Very positive experience. Food was good. Folks were friendly. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The meatloaf was pretty good, but the sides were wonderful. The very best part, surprisingly, was the cornbread!

Come for a genuine American diner experience. Tasty basic diner fare, served quickly with a smile. For a tasty stroll down memory lane don’t miss the fried bologna sandwich. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was really good too! You could spot the river outside.

The first time, I have been here past several times but had to stop and give it a try. Went in about 9 am and took a while to get food due to one cook. Which still wasn't bad for how many people she was cooking for. She was back there singing and having a good time. Got our food nice and hot. Biscuits were so fresh and tasty. Will be going back for lunch next time. Heard the cheeseburger is awesome, along with their shakes.

We wanted to get away for a night; looking on the map for just someplace different to try, we found this little....and I do mean little, diner. We booked a room in town for Saturday night and excitedly drove 207 miles from Columbus, Ohio, just to go to this one little diner - no other agenda for our short trip. Their hours were listed as Saturday and Sunday 8:30 am - 4 pm. We got there just after 3 pm to be saddened by the fact that their new hours posted showed them closing at 3 pm.... we really wanted to try their burgers. We went there for breakfast on Sunday morning, a little after the early morning breakfast rush. The little diner was full but we got right in with no waiting, we sat right down at the counter, taking in everything about the diner, from its customer base, its fun decor, and to its people working hard to keep their customers fed and happy. Their very obviously regular customers were friendly, fun, and very engaged with everything and everyone the entire time that we were there. We tried the meat omelet and the breakfast Kentucky hot brown; neither one disappointed us. The ladies working that morning were simply delightful! The manager was amazing with her crew and kept things moving with a light-hearted attitude. There was only one line cook, working hard....'Kudos to you'!! Not one order was cooked wrong, and nothing returned for any reason during our visit. As we left to head home, we were planning out our next trip down there to try their burgers. This is a must for anyone looking for a great diner experience. Good people, good food, and a great experience all the way around. It's worth the drive!!

Visiting the area and It’s like stepping back in time. I haven’t had a chuckwagon sandwich in years and it was so good. The meatloaf sandwich, fried bologna and the grilled pimiento cheese was also very good. Great comfort food. The staff are friendly. I look forward to a future visit.

Great place, and the waitress was awesome! We had a lunch earlier today and it was absolutely amazing...AGAIN! This place is always wonderful and has great fresh baked pie! I had a burger and fries, hand patties and served with cucumber salad. Rachael had a hot ham and cheese with tater tots. The ham was smoked and very good! The chocolate pie was everything you want in a chocolate pie! It tasted like i was chewing nesquick chocolate milk and had a buttery crust you just can't imagine until you taste it for yourself!

Small place, built against the side of a cliff. Be prepared to wait. We had breakfast. I had the Riverside with a side of gravy and she had a western omelet and both were excellent. The staff took great care of us.
